The Wrigley Company Foundation has awarded more than $50 million USD since its establishment in 1987 in support of community initiatives across the world including those designed to improve oral health.
In 2011 the Foundation provided a $45,00 USD grant to the Australian Dental Association in partnership with Give2Asia. The Australian Dental Association used these funds to award grants to groups/individuals who are involved with service projects focused on oral healthcare and education, and who provide access to underserved populations. The program encourages dentists to design and implement community oral health projects by providing the funding to cover the purchase of supplies or other expenses. This partnership also provides a $5,000 USD scholarship grant for a dental student from a rural or remote region to encourage their return and service to citizens in remote communities.
